STORY
Capstone was formed in 1998 by Simon Batorski after training at a dorest college for a full apprenticeship. Within a year Simon employed his own apprentice. Painting and restoring Victorian sash windows and interiors in and around Bridport became the main line of work and it wasn’t long before Capstone gained a recommendation to John Makepeace OBE. John asked us to complete a large restoration project at his home in Beaminster and other projects quickly came in. Soon after we began working with Des Hill of Hill Build on various houses working to specification as well as existing period properties. In 2005 we were commissioned by the National Trust to restore the interior paintwork of the top two gallery’s at Monticute House, Somerset.
Simon has always looked for new talent and over the years a number of trainees & apprentices have passed under his expert training. We currently have a young man called Michael Winder who has completed NVQ levels 1 & 2 training and has been full time with Capstone for the last 5 years.
During that time we have worked with Mr Guy Bamford on various projects including Ofwell House, The Old Dairy in Sidbury & Rose Hill in Lyme Regis.
Simon has built Capstone Painting & Decorating on hard work and customer trust. We have a large customer base supplying most of our yearly work in and around Dorset, Somerset & Devon but we're always ready for new clients! We pride ourselves on our ability to work well within a team environment co-ordinating jobs with other trades is very important to us and our clients.
We undertake many aspects of redecoration not just painting, we Line Walls, Wallpaper, Lime Wash Masonry, all forms of Interior Painting and Exterior Woodwork whether oil, stain or paint. We've also often painted Furniture and Kitchen Finishings, install decorative cornice, plaster and tile walls & floors. We have 17 years of experience working to specification with traditional paints and wallpapers such as Farrow & Ball, Fired Earth, Rose of Jerico, Mike Wye as well as more usual trade materials like Dulux and Johnston's. We also like to keep up with innovative new products like Window Repair Care which we've used since it's arrival around 2010. We first used it at the Café Bean, South Street, Bridport to extensively restore severely rotted and damaged windows and saved the client, Matt and Nina hundreds of pounds in costly carpentry repairs. We continue to use this product on a regular basis, even as a basic woodfiller (ordinary woodfillers move and crack in a matter of months ).
